Baby mealtime essentials (optional)

Ingredients

4 ripe avocados
½ cup water
1 banana or baby’s favorite fruit (optional)

*Makes 20 ounces

Electric Chopper Directions:

1. With your knife, cut vertically around your avocados and use your spoon to scoop out the fruit. Discard the skins.

2. Cut the avocado into squared sections and place into either your chopper or blender.

3. Pour water into blender.

4. Purée until your desired consistency is achieved. You can add more water for a thinner purée.

5. After mixing, serve immediately or freeze. An ice tray works wonders for portioned servings!

Optional: For added flavor, avocados work best when paired with… almost anything! Mash in a bit of banana for a potassium boost and a touch of sweetness. Chicken adds much needed protein. Mangos, apples, pears, and summer squash all make fantastic mix-ins.

Potato Masher Directions:

1. With your knife, cut vertically around your avocados and use your spoon to scoop out the fruit. Discard the skins.
2. Cut the avocado into squared sections and place into your bowl.
3. Mash the pieces into a purée while adding water in between until your desired consistency is achieved.

So once again, we thank you mysterious stranger whomever devised this almost-too-good-to-be-true fruit. Now go forth, and spread the awesomeness that are avocados and share them with the newest member of your family.
